You’ve been thinking about booking a boudoir session.
You’ve looked at the photographs. You’ve imagined yourself booking your own boudoir session. You may have even started thinking about which outfits you’d bring.
But there’s still one big question:
“What actually happens during a boudoir session?”
Almost every woman who walks into my Wenatchee boudoir studio tells me some version of the same things:
“I’ve never done anything like this before.”
“I have no idea how to pose.”
“I don’t know what to do with my hands.”
“I don’t know what to wear.”
“I’m nervous.”
“I don’t feel photogenic.”
You don’t need to have any of that figured out.
That’s my job.
You don’t need modeling experience. You don’t need to practice poses before you arrive. You don’t need to know which outfit will photograph best or how to make the right expression.
We prepare you before your session, and I guide you through every pose, movement, and expression while you’re in front of my camera.
Here’s exactly what happens when you book a boudoir photography session with Boudoir by Lynette.

First: Your Complimentary Consultation Call
Before you book your session, we begin with a complimentary consultation call.
This is your opportunity to learn more about the boudoir experience, what your session includes, how the process works, and whether Boudoir by Lynette is the right fit for you.
We talk about why you’re considering a session, what you want from your photographs, the styles you love, and the type of images you’re drawn to. We can also talk about wardrobe, studio sets, available products, pricing, and any questions you have about the experience.
If you decide this is exactly what you’ve been looking for, we choose your session date and officially book your experience.
Before Your Session: We Prepare You for Everything
Once you book, you’ll receive a complete prep guide, a lingerie fit guide, and preparation emails leading up to your session. These walk you through what to bring, how to prepare, how to shop for pieces that fit properly, and what will happen when your session day arrives.
You don’t have to remember everything or figure it out alone. If you have questions before your session, you can reach us by phone, text, or email.
We want you to feel fully prepared before you walk through the studio doors. You’ll know where to go, what to bring, what happens first, and what your day will look like from beginning to end.
Step 1: Professional Hair, Makeup, and Lashes
When you arrive at my private downtown Wenatchee studio, your day begins with professional hair, makeup, and lashes.
Our talented stylists listen to what you want. Whether you love full glam or want something more subtle, your look is created around your style and what makes you feel amazing.
Once you sit down for professional hair, makeup, and lashes, the nerves begin to disappear. The excitement kicks in, and you start to feel ready for your day and everything that’s about to happen.
By the time you’re finished, you don’t just look amazing. You feel it, too.
You’re ready.

Step 2: Let’s Go Through Your Outfits
As soon as your professional hair, makeup, and lashes are finished, we go through the items you brought with you.
We recommend bringing three to five outfit options. If you’re unsure, you can always bring more, and we’ll go through them together at the studio.
Boudoir doesn’t require lingerie. You can bring bodysuits, robes, a favorite sweater, an oversized white shirt, or anything else that makes you feel incredible.
We intentionally don’t have a traditional lingerie client closet. Trying on unfamiliar lingerie the day of your session can add unnecessary stress. This way, you arrive with pieces that you’ve already tried on and know fit your body and your style. Your wardrobe feels personal because it is, and the lingerie you wear belongs to you. Long after your session, wearing it again can bring back how you felt that day and remind you of the woman you saw in your photographs.
Your prep guide includes links to lingerie in different styles, sizes, and price ranges. You’ll also have access to our accessory closet to add the finishing touches to your looks.
Step 3: Your Boudoir Session With Me
Once we’ve gone through your outfits, your session begins.
You know exactly who’ll be photographing you. I don’t have an associate photographer, and you’re not passed to someone you’ve never met.
Your session is with me.
You don’t need any modeling experience, and you don’t need to know how to pose. I demonstrate every pose and show you exactly where to place your hands, how to position your legs, where to look, and what to do with your expression.
I adjust the posing, lighting, and camera angles for your body, so every photograph is created specifically for you.
We’ll move through your outfits and studio sets, and I’ll guide you through every photograph. You don’t have to figure anything out.
That’s my job.
Step 4: The Moment Before You See Yourself
Right after your session, you begin packing your outfits and personal items while I download your images.
You don’t have to wait several weeks to find out whether you love your photographs.
You see them that same day.

Step 5: Your Same-Day Image Reveal
Then we sit down together with a snack for my favorite part of the entire experience.
Your same-day image reveal.
We go through your photographs together, unedited, and you see what we created before you leave the studio.
This is where it lands.
The first photograph appears on the screen. You stop. You look closer. Then I hear:
“Holy cow, is that really me?”
“I can’t believe that is me.”
And one of my personal favorites:
“Damn, that is me.”
There may be tears. There’s laughter, joy, excitement, and all the emotions that come with finally seeing yourself this way.
This is the moment when you see yourself differently.
You see the woman who’s been there the entire time. You see your curves, your expression, your strength, your personality, and your fire. You’re not looking at a different person. You’re seeing yourself professionally posed, beautifully lit, and photographed from angles selected for you.
You choose and purchase the photographs you love and decide how you want to keep them. Albums, wall art, and digital images are available, and all purchased photographs receive my studio’s professional retouching.
You leave knowing exactly what your photographs look like and which ones will become yours.
How Long Does the Entire Boudoir Experience Take?
Plan to spend approximately three to four hours at the studio from the time you arrive through your same-day image reveal.
Your date is reserved exclusively for you. I photograph one woman per day, so there’s no next client waiting outside and no reason to rush through your experience.
The studio, the schedule, and my full attention belong to you for the day.
Are Images Included With the Session?
Images and artwork are purchased separately.
During your same-day reveal, you choose the photographs you love and decide how you want to enjoy them. Options include luxury albums, wall art, and digital images.
Your consultation covers the available options before you reserve your session, so you know how everything works before your date is placed on the calendar.
Do You Offer Pre-Session Payment Plans or Financing?
Yes. We offer pre-session payment plans that allow you to divide your collection into weekly, biweekly, or monthly payments before your session.
Your selected collection must be paid in full before your session date. This allows you to spread the investment over time and arrive at the studio knowing it’s already handled. Your session day can stay focused on your experience, your photographs, and seeing your images for the first time.
We also offer third-party financing options through Affirm, Afterpay, and Klarna. Approval, payment schedules, and financing terms are determined by each provider.

What If I’m Nervous?
You probably will be, at least when you first arrive.
Most women are.
Then you sit down for professional hair, makeup, and lashes. We start talking, you see your look coming together, and the excitement begins to take over.
By the time we go through your outfits and begin your session, you know what’s happening and you know I’m going to direct you through every part of it.
You can be nervous and still do something incredible.
What If I’ve Never Done Anything Like This Before?
Most of my clients have never done anything like this before.
You’re not expected to arrive knowing how a boudoir session works. That’s why you receive your prep guide, lingerie fit guide, preparation emails, and access to us by phone, text, or email before your session.
Once you arrive, we take you through the experience one step at a time.
You don’t need previous experience. You only need to show up.
What If I Don’t Know How to Pose?
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t have to study my portfolio, practice in the mirror, or memorize where your hands should go. I demonstrate every pose and direct every detail, including your hands, legs, back, chin, eyes, and expression.
If something needs to be adjusted, I tell you and show you.
Posing isn’t something you need to bring to the studio. It’s part of what I provide.
Do I Have to Wear Lingerie?
No.
Boudoir isn’t defined by how much clothing you wear. A bodysuit, robe, sweater, dress, white shirt, or beautiful bra can photograph just as well as traditional lingerie.
We choose what works for your body, your personality, and the photographs you want.

What If I Don’t Feel Photogenic?
You don’t have to feel photogenic before you book.
Most people only see themselves in bathroom mirrors, rushed selfies, security cameras, and photographs taken without professional posing or lighting. None of those show you what’s possible when every detail is created around you.
Knowing how to position your body, use light, choose an angle, and capture the right expression is my job.
You simply need to follow my direction.
Can I Ask Questions Before My Session?
Absolutely.
Once your session is booked, you’re always welcome to reach out by phone, text, or email. If you have a question about an outfit, lingerie fit, preparation, or anything else, ask us.
We want you to arrive knowing that everything has been handled and that you’ve had access to us throughout the entire process.
Will My Boudoir Session Be Private?
Yes.
Your session takes place in my private Wenatchee boudoir studio, and only one client is photographed each day.
Your photographs are never shared without your permission. You decide whether anyone else sees them.
What Makes Boudoir by Lynette Different?
You’re not moved through a production line or passed from photographer to photographer.
I’m the woman you speak with, the photographer behind the camera, and the person directing you through every pose. I don’t have an associate photographer, so when you book with Boudoir by Lynette, you’re photographed by Lynette.
I have more than 30 years of photography experience, and I use that experience to photograph women of different ages, body types, and life stories.
I’m also a Certified Professional Photographer and Master of Photography, but the part that matters most during your session is this:
I know how to photograph you.
I know how to use light, posing, expression, and camera angles to create photographs that make you stop and look again.
And because I photograph only one woman per day, your experience receives the time and attention it deserves.
Now You Know Exactly What to Expect
A boudoir session isn’t about arriving with confidence, knowing how to pose, or pretending you’re not nervous.
You arrive as yourself.
You begin with professional hair, makeup, and lashes. We go through your outfits together. I guide you through every photograph. You pack up while I download your images, then we sit down with a snack for your same-day image reveal.
That’s when you finally see what everyone who loves you has been seeing all along.
If you’re ready to find out what your own “Damn, that is me” moment feels like, schedule a call to apply for your Boudoir by Lynette experience today.
